Laser Light City Leeds safely draws audience of thousands

We just returned from an amazing event in Leeds; it was the biggest installation of Laser Light City so far and an estimated 60,000 people enjoyed the installation across the 4 day event.

But despite the numbers, it was an incredibly safe event, and the audience maintained a very safe social distance. Due to the multiple sites and the timescale, there was never any large gathering in any one space.

With 7 separate sites, 25 powerful lasers, 15 crew on our side (and many more on the council’s) this was the biggest project we’ve ever undertaken.

It formed the largest part of this year’s Light Night Leeds, which couldn’t run as planned for obvious reasons. We’ve long been a fan of the event so we were really pleased to offer them something that would work during the restrictions.

It was an absolute joy to work with the folks at Leeds Council and director Abbe Robinson had some very kind words for us – thanks Abbe!

Laser Light City gave Light Night Leeds the fantastic opportunity to adapt during a pandemic and continue to present world-class innovative light art to our audiences... We would not hesitate to recommend Seb Lee-Delisle and Laser Light City to other towns and cities in the UK and beyond!”
